Going through my old facebook albums from high school. Say hello to me about 90 pounds ago haha (on the left). It was character day, so Kari’s dressed up as Snooki :P

Anonymous asked: I'm so frustrated! Last week I was 143-144, but now I always land on 147-150... I've been excercising, and eating right since then. What's the matter?

Are you weighing yourself at the same time every day? Your weight fluctuates a lot throughout the course of the day, which could be the reason you’re seeing higher numbers.

You could be eating less than you should, make sure you’re getting a minimum 1200 calories a day. Under eating can slow your metabolism and actually cause weight gain.

The most probable answer though is that you’re gaining muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat, so you may be losing fat and gaining muscle. You just don’t realize it because the scale is playing tricks on you. Weight isn’t really an important or logical way to track fat loss. Start taking your measurements and track those along with your weight. As long as you’re feeding your body enough (&not too much) healthy foods and exercising hard, you’re going to get the results you want as long as you’re patient and diligent. Good luck and try not to be discouraged!

Anonymous asked: But I have been eating 800 calories a day and going to the gym for 45 minutes of cardio and then weights for 6 weeks and have gained 15 pounds! Also what I'm eating is healthy. I'm so discouraged :(

You’re gaining weight because you’re starving yourself. Increase your calories to at least 1,200 a day and don’t be discouraged.

Anonymous asked: Do you think it's possible to lose 30 pounds in 40 days?

I don’t think that’s a healthy goal. Some people with a higher BMI may be able to safely cut that much weight in such a short amount of time, but if you aren’t severely overweight it would be very difficult and risky to lose so much so quickly. Eat healthy and exercise, your body will burn fat on it’s own time so long as you don’t give up.

I got lime green free run 3’s yesterday. Pretty  much the happiest camper ever.

speakquiteastorm asked: Darling your goal weight wasn't too low, I'm sure. I'm somewhere between 5'9" and 5'10" and I've been able to maintain a healthy 125. I was 170 last winter. If slimming down to a 130 would make you happy, then I say do it. But it's all about how you do it, I'm sure you know that. Do what makes you feel like the most confident, beautiful you. :)

Thank you very much :) 130 was my original goal, but I am pretty muscular as it is. I’ll have to see how I look at 140, and if I’m still not content, I’ll continue to go until I’m at a happy weight. Thanks for your input and congratulations on your success!

It’s refreshing to hear someone NOT telling me I’m too small.

Anonymous asked: I think that it is totally awesome how much weight you've lost in what? a year? that's fucking awesome, you're kind of my role model right about now to get back into shape. you're an absolutely beautiful young lady and hopefully you know that!

I started losing weight last May, so about 10 months. Don’t rush yourself, be sure to listen to your body, and be safe/healthy about your weight loss. This completely made my day though, thank you so much and best of luck to you!

Also if you ever wanna come off anon and discuss anything, just mention first that you don’t want me to post it and I’ll reply to you privately.

Anonymous asked: What is your goal weight?

My doctor told me today that my goal weight was too low and I can’t lose more than 15 pounds without being underweight, so now my goal is 140. I’m 5’9”.

Anonymous asked: What is your workout routine? And does p90x work for you for fast results?

I’ve done p90x for a long time, but never actually following the 90 day regimen. I just did assorted muscle groups, ab ripper, and cardio x. I just started actually going for 90 days on the 13th, but I love it! I can already see results and my arms have gotten a LOOOT stronger. I definitely recommend it! But I don’t have a typical routine, and you shouldn’t either. You need to do a variety of different exercises to keep your body from getting used to the same workouts. To lose weight, find a few different types of cardio and switch it up between them when you workout. Do at least 30 minutes 5 days a week, but I’d definitely recommend doing more than that. If you’re just starting out or you have a lot of weight to lose, lift weights about 3-5 days a week. All of these things are important, but if you really want results, you need to be paying attention to your diet and eating as clean as possible. You can’t out exercise poor nutrition. Good luck!

Yoga X

is my new absolute favorite workout. So calming, but I was still pouring sweat and definitely feel it in my muscles. My body feels so good that I’m sitting here smiling for no reason :)

Pretend I didn’t already upload a picture like this, delete it, and put up this one cause I liked it better…

But really I’m happy with my outfit for tomorrow night. Everything was on a ridiculous sale.

26 pounds to lose by May 17.

Time to kick it into high gear with my workouts and go back to strict veganism. Might even go raw.

I can definitely do this. And once I do, I’ll have reached my goal weight :D That’s 116 pounds in 11 months!

Anonymous asked: I've been searching everywhere for information, so I thought I would ask you. I've been eating an extremely low calorie diet for a while now, and have started gaining weight. I want to increase it to about 1200 calories a day because I know what I'm doing is unhealthy, but I'm already gaining weight and I want to lose it! Do you have any suggestions!? Thanks :)

I actually have done the same thing. Before I really got the hang of a healthy diet, I would eat 100-600 calories a day (if anything at all) and overexercise. I lost about 30 pounds in a month like that… but I had absolutely no energy, my hair was falling out, I was passing out ALL the time, I couldn’t concentrate, and I was always in a horrible mood. I thought I was just really dedicating myself, but in reality I was starting to develop an eating disorder. Eventually the weight loss slowed down until I started eating right. I never gained anything, but I can tell you that the reason you are gaining weight is because you’ve slowed your metabolism an extreme amount. 1,200 calories is the minimum recommended intake for weight loss, but it depends on your gender, height, weight, and a few other things. You may actually need to be eating more than that for your body to safely shed fat. I recommend a program like myfitnesspal to get you on the right track. It will give you a personalized recommended intake, count your calories, and keep track of your progress. You can use the website, but if you have an iPhone I highly recommend the app. Make your calories count by eating nutritious foods like vegetables, fruit, legumes, and whole grains. If you spread your food to about 5-6 small meals a day, your metabolism will increase. I also recommend eating your protein in the morning. In addition to a healthy diet, you should be exercising. Do a minimum 30 minutes of cardio 3-5 times a week starting out, and incorporate a little strength training. If you’re short on time for exercise, I really recommend investing in a circuit training DVD like 30 Day Shred. It’s only a 20 minute workout, but it works a lot of different muscle groups as well as getting in cardio and boosting metabolism. Drink a minimum 8 glasses of water a day. Remember weight loss isn’t a race. If you keep up with healthy habits and remain diligent, you’re going to get the results you want. Good luck!

Plus THANK YOU so much for taking the initiative to look up information on your own before asking me! Seriously, when I read the “I’ve been searching everywhere for information…”, I was ready to kiss you.

importanceofsunshine asked: Hellooo, I know you probably get asked a lot of questions about your weight lose and what not, and I'm sure that tends to get a little old, so if you don't feel like talking about this to a complete stranger I more than understand and will not be offended. I was just wondering how you keep yourself motivated on a daily basis. I need to lose weight and get more healthy, but I absolutely hate excersise, and will come up with any excuse to avoid it. Have you ever gone through that?

I have a fitness tab on my blog, just click the link for a lot of information on weight loss! As far as motivation goes, only you can push yourself to move forward and continue making progress. Know that you’re worth a beautiful, healthy body. You deserve to be the best that you can be, and you’ll get there if you put in the work and stay persistent! Just do it for YOU and no one else. You have to be your own motivation.
